I’ve been very lucky when it comes to coworkers in the offices I’ve worked in. All of them are sweet, fun and most importantly… they have all loved to eat. I was very fortunate to work with a gentleman that not only bakes the best scones I’ve ever tasted, but is capable of catering for large family functions… such as his daughter’s weddings. This amazing man introduced me to my first scotch egg, and I’ve been on the lookout for them ever since. I found one at The Table in San Jose.
The scotch egg is simple. It is a hard boiled egg (I prefer them with a runny middle) wrapped in breaded sausage. The Table offers a scotch egg with mustard and a small bed of arugula on the side. Delightful.
Another wonderful thing I was able to order was their Monkey Bread, a soft pull-apart cake dripping with cinnamon and caramel.
Everything else we ordered was delicious.
The Table was such a pleasant place to brunch. The service was great, the staff is friendly and the space had so much natural light – it almost made you feel like you were sitting outside. The location is great. We were able to take a nice walk after brunch to look at all the small shops nearby and even had some ice cream before we got ready to head back home.
With that said… If you are up in NorCal looking for a Scotch Egg… I highly recommend giving The Table a try.
