I love cozy dinners. Those family style dinners where you have multiple things to chose from that invoke conversations about what you’re eating. You’re huddled so close to each other that it’s difficult to move plates around because there’s no space. This is the kind of dinner I had at Republique.
I shared in my Brunch Edition post that reservations are recommended for dinner, but Republique will still be really happy to have you if you’re there early enough. (Reservations are still recommended). We decided to go there very last minute for my mother’s birthday (around 5:30 in the evening) and they were still able to seat us with a short 20 minute wait. There was still a good amount of light out when we arrived, but towards the end of dinner, the low light from the restaurant gave the space such a nice glow. Very cozy.
The dinner menu has a variety of things to choose from. As you walk in, you see the evening’s oyster selection followed by your charchuterie & cheese options. Each order is carefully crafted with beautiful serving platters. I recommend going with a party of at least 4 so you can order more.
We ordered the Charcuterie Board, which serves 4. Their cured meats were the perfect amount of flavor, it came with the most amazing pate and fois gras, and their pickled vegetables were the perfect palate cleansers. Let’s not forget about their fresh bread.
The rest of our dinner went something like this:
Lastly, you can’t have birthday dinner without dessert:
Needless to say, we had a pretty happy mother after her birthday dinner. The best part of Republique is there’s still so many more things I want to try. The wonderful ambiance, great staff, remarkable menu and food has me wanting to go back over and over again.
