Posting on Christmas Day inspired me to look for what I consider a source of comfort. This past year was a year of self reflection. This reflection has made me come to realize that being comfortable is something that I not only look for, but want to provide. I find that comfort normally comes in really simple forms and I was able to find that in Byblos Café.
I was introduced to Byblos Café by a good friend. And that friend was brought there by a good friend in an effort to comfort in the midst of a bad situation. The café is located off of Chapman Ave. near the Orange Circle. If you aren’t paying attention, it is very easy to miss it as you walk by. There is a wonderful little outside patio available for seating. You feel tucked away from the noise from the street as you settle in to their garden-like space sandwiched between their two-story brick buildings.
The Lebanese Breakfast is what I order when I go to Byblos Café. The breakfast is simple: Two eggs over easy, fresh cheese with olive oil and beans.
The eggs are runny, perfect for dipping your hot pita bread. The simple combination of yolk, beans and cheese makes you forget everything except what’s in front of you.
It makes me happy to have been introduced to Byblos Café. So in turn, I introduce them to you. Hope everyone had a chance to find a little bit of comfort during your holiday weekend.
